Three out of four trading days saw Bitcoin ETFs experiencing outflows. On 26 December, the biggest outflow happened with one of the most famous Bitcoin ETFs BlackRock IBIT, which is the biggest since its launch. The outflow amounted to $188.7 million. This was notable decline in Bitcoin ETFs. This shows the increasing investor lack of confidence in Bitcoin at current times.

On the other hand, Ethereum ETFs exhibited more positive trend. All four trading days saw inflows in ETH ETFs, and on three of these days there were no outflows at all. For the week, total inflow of Ethereum ETFs amounted to $349.3 million. This shows high demand for ETH, even in bear market.

Capital Flows Show Growing Confidence in Ethereum Over Bitcoin

ETFs of BTC and ETH offer two contrasting performances that indicate a change in investor sentiment. In the current market scenario, Ethereum is attracting far more investment than Bitcoin. It is considered that upgrades to the Ethereum network could be one potential factor for this growing confidence in Ethereum ETFs. It is true that when there is upgrade in any network or network adds new features in the system, investors take it as an opportunity to invest in. Ethereum’s use in decentralized finance is growing too. It also contributes to the stronger performance.

The week overall showed a clear difference in behavior when it came to investment between Bitcoin and Ethereum. Spot On Chain’s data also showed BTC ETFs declined while ETH ETFs rose. Therefore, this change in capital flows is a more general pattern in the digital asset market. Consequently, investors are now starting to prefer Ethereum to Bitcoin. Given that the market is still moving forward, it will be interesting to see if this trend continues in the coming weeks.
