Caseys General Stores Inc (NASDAQ:CASY) stock fell 1.04% (As on September 9, 11:11:44 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company reported quarterly profit and revenue ahead of Wall Street estimates, helped by stronger in-store sales, but kept its full-year outlook unchanged. Inside same-store sales increased 4.3% compared to prior year, and 6.7% on a two-year stack basis, with an inside margin of 41.9%. Total inside gross profit increased 14.8% to $705.5 million compared to the prior year. Same-store fuel gallons were up 1.7% compared to prior year with a fuel margin of 41.0 cents per gallon. Total fuel gross profit increased 18.8% to $373.6 million compared to the prior year. Same-store operating expenses excluding credit card fees were up 3.0%, favorably impacted by a 1% reduction in same-store labor hours.
Moreover, total inside sales for the quarter were up 14.2% compared to the prior year. For the quarter, total fuel gallons sold increased 18.0% compared to the prior year due to the store count increase as well as same-store gallons which were up versus the prior year. The Company’s total fuel gross profit was up 18.8% versus the prior year. The Company sold $6.7 million in renewable fuel credits (RINs) in the quarter, an increase of $1.9 million from the same quarter in the prior year.
CASY in the first quarter of FY 26 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of $5.77, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of $5.03. The company had reported the adjusted revenue of $4.58 billion in the first quarter of FY 26, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $4.48 billion. At July 31, 2025, the Company had approximately $1.4 billion in available liquidity, consisting of approximately $458 million in cash and cash equivalents on hand and approximately $900 million in available borrowing capacity on existing lines of credit.
Additionally, during the quarter, the Company repurchased approximately $31 million of shares. The company has approximately $264 million remaining under its existing share repurchase authorization. The company has also approved a quarterly dividend of $0.57 per share. The dividend is payable November 14, 2025, to shareholders of record on November 1, 2025.
For fiscal 2026, Casey’s maintained its forecast of 10% to 12% EBITDA growth, 2% to 5% same-store sales growth inside its stores, and flat to 1% growth in same-store fuel gallons sold. The company plans to open at least 80 new stores this year, through a mix of M&A and new store construction, bringing the three-year strategic plan period total to approximately 500 stores.
