Gold maintain the level near $1,680 – $1,700
The bounce from $1,680 – $1,700 area losing upward momentum. Gold prices made a bearish close yesterday and might continue lower to retest the $1,680 – $1,700 area. Nevertheless, traders are waiting for the FOMC meeting tomorrow which will decide the interest rate. If gold prices continue the bearish movement then we might see a breakout below $1,680. On the other hand, a rally from the current level could bring gold prices up to the target $1,780 – $1,800 area.
Today’s critical levels to watch:
Support: $1,700, $1,680
Resistance: $1,780, $1,800
Silver holding out near $18.50
The consolidation near the $18.50 level has no conclusion yet. Silver prices keep making daily closes near it nearing the FOMC meeting. If the price could bounce from the level then silver prices will target $20.00 and $21.35. On the other hand, a bearish breakout below $18.50 will open the path toward $16.00.
