Euronext FX has been making changes and additions to its foreign exchange business as the firm works on becoming one of the top foreign exchange providers. Over the last few months, Euronext has hired some of the best individuals in the business as the team continues to grow. About a month ago, the company obtained the services of Wyman Shing who joined the firm from RBS.
White joins Euronext FX team
The FX firm has expanded its team after they hired a new Sales Director for foreign currency. Ben White will assume the role in the EMEA jurisdiction, which is one of the areas in which Euronext operates. White began his duties in Euronext’s foreign exchange division beginning yesterday, the first of October.
Before joining Euronext, White worked at Currenex, the State’s Street foreign exchange firm between June last year through September of this year. He comes with over six years of experience in foreign exchange, and this experience will be highly valuable for the Euronext team.
White has also worked in various financial departments including at HSBC Global Banking and Markets in the E-FX unit. He has served as the assistant vice president at Currenex Sales EMEA and at Santander Global Corporate Banking as an FX Client Associate.
Euronext builds an experienced team as FX environment changes
The addition of White to the Euronext team is the latest move by the company as it brings together several industry veterans. The firm is building this much-experienced team at a time when the FX industry is undergoing a lot of changes in terms of its structures and regulatory frameworks.
Regulators across Europe are making changes to regulations governing foreign exchange due to the rising number of FX related scams and other challenges that the industry is facing. FX products are growing in popularity, and more people have begun engaging in the trade of these financial options.
Euronext was founded in 2012 as part of a partnership between a Swiss bank called Credit Suisse, and FXCM, an FX brokerage firm. Euronext FX provides its clients with an electronic trading platform for foreign currencies.
The firm’s products are mostly designed for institutional traders such as hedge funds, banks and asset management firms. The exchange’s trading volumes have been steadily increasing over the years as the firm has entered new territories across the continent and attracted more investors.
Euronext’s FX division was formed after Euronext acquired FastMatch in 2017. The acquisition came about through the company’s strategy to expand its operations and provide its services to institutional investors.
