Plus500 has just added another feather to its already colorful hat. The AIM-listed online trading service provider has just announced the receiving of a license to conduct business in Singapore. The FCA-regulated Plus500 Ltd is currently one of the leading forex and CFD brokerage firms globally, with existing operations in over 50 countries and 32 languages across the world.
The company is listed and regulated from at least six jurisdictions around the world: Israel, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. Following the granting of this Capital Markets Services operating license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to Plus500 Ltd, the company will now be expanding its trading in securities and leveraged forex to the prosperous Asian city-state.
According to Plus500 Ltd CEO Asif Elimelech, this move is a clear indication of the CFD broker’s scalability both from a business standpoint and a regulatory perspective. In fact, the decision to go for the Capital Markets Services permit in Singapore is in line with Plus500’s long-term strategy to add new licenses to its current collection in a bid to grow its worldwide customer base and diversify its income across various geographical regions.
The Plus500 online trading platform allows users to trade in CFDs with over 2,200 varying global financial instruments — including equities, options, indices, ETFs, commodities, forex and cryptocurrencies — being availed.
Elimelech is happy that his company’s international brand has been getting more attention and recognition in recent years and hopes that Plus500 will be able to reach even higher heights with the new positive momentum gained from the acquisition of the Singaporean trading license. In Singapore, Plus500 Ltd will be operating under the name Plus500SG Pte. Ltd, a new subsidiary of the global forex firm that was created specifically for this new market.
