Forex Technical Major Pairs Analysis | April 28, 2026

USDX (USD Index)

The U.S. dollar index is trying to turn higher, but the move has retraced back to the previous day’s high. For now, price action remains centered around the daily SMA 200, showing that the market is still hesitating ahead of the FOMC meeting. As long as the index stays around this area, consolidation could continue. Traders will likely wait for the FOMC outcome before expecting a clearer directional move.

EUR/USD

FBS The Best Forex Broker

EUR/USD made a bearish attempt below the 1.1710 level and briefly touched the daily SMA 200. However, the pair bounced immediately from that support area, suggesting that buyers are still defending the downside. At this stage, the pair looks likely to stay above 1.1710 for now. If the support continues to hold, then EUR/USD may remain in a tight consolidation range while waiting for the next catalyst.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.1710, 1.1580, 1.1500, 1.1360, 1.1300

Resistance: 1.1820,1.2000, 1.2070

GBP/USD

GBP/USD continues to respect the established 1.3450 to 1.3600 range. There was a bearish attempt earlier, but the pair recovered quickly and failed to sustain the downside move. This reaction confirms that the range structure is still intact. Unless there is a breakout from either side, traders will likely continue to watch the pair move sideways within these boundaries.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.3450, 1.3330, 1.3300, 1.3250

Resistance: 1.3600

USD/JPY

USD/JPY is showing very little change today and continues to move sideways. The pair remains trapped within its consolidation structure, with neither buyers nor sellers showing enough strength to force a breakout. For now, the ranging situation remains unchanged. Traders will likely keep waiting for a clearer move before taking new positions.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 158.89, 155.50, 155.00, 153.00, 151.00

Resistance: 160.00, 161.18

AUD/USD

AUD/USD retested the 0.7160 level and showed a bounce reaction from the area. This suggests that buyers are still active around the breakout zone. The key question now is whether the pair will immediately continue upward or pause to consolidate near 0.7160 first. As long as price holds above this level, the bullish structure remains valid, and further upside toward 0.7300–0.7330 stays on the table.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 0.7160, 0.7000, 0.6820, 0.6750, 0.6700, 0.6600

Resistance: 0.7300
