The filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection by FTX and Alameda Research was made on November 11. Several charges of misconduct, including the alleged theft of billions of dollars in customer funds, have surfaced since this filing.

Bankman-Fried may spend decades in jail after being initially charged with eight counts, including conspiracy to conduct money laundering and wire fraud. On allegations of fraud, he entered a not-guilty plea in January. Bankman-Fried was charged with four further offenses by federal authorities in the United States in February for allegedly making illegal political donations to influence national talks about crypto legislation.
