FTX Sells All Remaining Shares In Anthropic

As per the reports, the platform has sold the existing 15M shares in Anthropic amid the rise of its bankruptcy cost to more than $700 million. The FTX estate has provided the latest update under the lead of its new chief executive officer John Ray III. As per it, the firm has offloaded the remaining of its shares present in Anthropic. Anthropic operates as an artificial intelligence venture at the back of Claude (a popular chatbot). The company disclosed the respective information in its exclusive bankruptcy filings.

The platform reportedly traded the rest of the 15M shares thereof for nearly $30 each. In this way, the company netted more than $450M in proceeds. The respective development takes the cumulative haul from the original $500M investment in FTX to approximately $1.3B. In this respect, it enjoys a profit of almost $800 million. The per-share price for the 2nd sale remained the same as the initial sale that took place in March.

The top buyer on the respective round is G Squared (a worldwide venture capital funding platform). According to the reports, the VC fund bought nearly one-third of the existing shares, equaling an amount of up to 4.5 million. G Squared reportedly obtained the above-mentioned shares for $135 million. The majority of the rest of the twenty Anthropic share purchasers included VC funds.

After the new findings that the bankruptcy estate offered, the FTX bankruptcy’s cost has gone beyond $700M. The respective cost takes into account administrative and legal charges, as Mr. Purple (a bankruptcy expert) pointed out. The creditors of FTX have made a complaint concerning Sullivan and Cromwell.
