Yesterday, gold prices rose by 0.25%, the second daily gain, respectively, supported by the decline of the dollar against a basket of currencies.

The dollar index rose by 0.4% on Tuesday, resuming its gains, which were suspended yesterday, the third gain in the past four days, reflecting the rise of USD against a basket of currencies, which supports the pressure on prices of metals and commodities denominated in US dollars.

The rise in the US currency comes at the expense of Europe’s two major currencies, the Euro and the British Pound, which are facing increasing pressure ahead of the British Parliament’s vote on the UK’s separation from the European Union.

Most indicators point to the parliament’s rejection of this agreement, which would certainly lead to a chaotic secession of the United Kingdom from the European Union and lead to confidence in the British government led by Teresa May.

Gold holdings in the SPDR Gold Trust Fund The world’s largest gold-backed index funds remained unchanged for the second day in a row, remaining at 797.71 metric tons.
