Hot Tech stock to watch: SAP SE (ADR)(NYSE: SAP)

SAP SE (ADR)(NYSE: SAP) reported a New cloud bookings egrowth of 26% or a rise of 30% at constant currencies for full year of 2017. New cloud and software license order entry enhanced 17% at constant currencies year over year in the full year while Cloud subscriptions and support backlog surged 38%, reaching €7.5 billion at year-end.

For the full year 2017, the cloud and software revenue rose 6% (IFRS) while Cloud subscriptions and support revenue reached €3.77 billion (IFRS). Software revenue was €4.87 billion (IFRS), which is a stable year over year. The group’s revenue reached €23.46 billion (IFRS) at constant currencies.

The group’s expanding cloud business and this coupled with support revenue drove the share of more predictable revenue. The total of cloud subscriptions & support revenue and software support revenue comprised 63% of total revenue for the full year 2017, which is a rise of 1 percentage point.

On the other side, the shares of Callidus Software Inc.(NASDAQ:CALD) delivered an outstanding rise of over 10.5% on Jan 30th, 2018 as SAP is acquiring the firm. The per share purchase price is $36.00 which represents an enterprise value of over $2.4 billion. This ransaction is expected to finish in the second quarter of 2018, subject to approval from CallidusCloud stockholders, clearances by the relevant regulatory authorities, and other customary closing conditions. The transaction is expected to be essentially neutral to SAP’s non-IFRS earnings per share for fiscal 2018 but be accretive to SAP’s non-IFRS earnings per share for fiscal 2019.

By adding CallidusCloud the group intends to strengthen their position in the customer relationship management (CRM) space. CallidusCloud’s solutions cater to specific needs of sales people on the ground and link sales-related information, like pricing, incentives, and commissions, to enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

The group is currently connecting the back office to the front office in this consumer-driven growth revolution and CallidusCloud addition would align SAP’s innovation strategy to transform the front office. SAP gives CallidusCloud the global scale to speed up their impressive growth. Moreover, this deal enables customers with the market leading Sales Performance (SPM), Sales Execution (CPQ) and Sales Enablement clouds combined with SAP Hybris and S/4HANA.
