IHS Markit Ltd (NASDAQ: INFO) has reported the adjusted earnings per share of 45 cents in the first quarter 2017, missing the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of 46 cents. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 54 percent to $844.2 million in the first quarter 2017, missing the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $849.5 billion. The revenue included the reported organic revenue growth of 1 percent and normalized organic revenue growth of 2 percent. The net income attributable to INFO in the first quarter 2017 grew 46 percent to $66 million.

Moreover, the first quarter 2017 revenue for Transportation has increased 13 percent, to $225 million, and included 9 percent organic growth for the recurring-based business. The first quarter 2017 adjusted EBITDA for Transportation has increased 22 percent, to $90 million. INFO is seeing the Transportation segment continues to perform at a high level, Financial Services has also come up with very good performance, and there are clear signs of stabilization within the Energy business. However, the resources segment first quarter revenue has decreased 9 percent, to $197 million and the                Adjusted EBITDA for Resources segment fall 8 percent, to $80 million, due to the shift in timing of the annual CERAWeek conference from the first quarter in 2016 to the second quarter in 2017. Further, the Consolidated Markets & Solutions (CMS)’s first quarter revenue decreased 5 percent, to $127 million, and had 1 percent organic growth for the recurring-based business but The first quarter adjusted EBITDA for CMS has increased 4 percent, to $29 million.

INFO expects the full-year 2017 earnings per share to be in the range of $2.02 to $2.08, and the revenue is expected to be in the range of $3.49 billion to $3.56 billion including the total organic growth of 2 percent to 4 percent. The adjusted EBITDA is expected to be in a range of $1.375 billion to $1.400 billion in 2017.

Meanwhile, INFO has appointed Lisa Simone Westlake as the executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Ms. Westlake will join the IHS Markit Office of the CEO and report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jerre Stead.
