Interactive Brokers Introduces CHF Bonds And Expands Trading Hours

Interactive Broker has revealed that it has improved its global bond offering via the IBKR Bond Marketplace. The new tools help clients get more access to money for European government bonds, global corporate bonds, and UK Gilts.

Clients can now be able to buy and sell these bonds for as long as 22 hours each day. Furthermore, customers can also trade Swiss Franc (CHF) bonds, like global company bonds and Swiss government bonds priced in CHF on the IBKR platform.

The growth adds to IBKR’s current bond options which are in HKD, CAD, GBP, USD, and EUR. Customers around the world can now buy and sell bonds and also trade other kinds of assets like mutual funds, currencies, futures, options, and stocks all from one platform.

This development offers users more users more types of investments that can provide steady income. This would allow them to adjust well to the changes in the global market

By adding the CHF-denominated bonds, clients have the opportunity to find new opportunities in the European fixed-income market. The platform increased its sovereign and corporate bond offerings to be more open and give clients more trading chances.  This enables institutional clients, active investors, and retail traders to increase their holdings.

According to reports, Interactive Brokers has increased its overnight trading services to cover Contracts for Difference (CFDs) on ETFs and US stocks.

Interactive Brokers Seeks To Expand Access To Financial Markets

This new service is available from 8:00 pm to 3:50 am ET, Sunday through Friday. It adds to the firm current list of US stocks, index, and ETF options. Now, investors can access over 3,500 US stocks. This change is meant to give clients more options and help global investors stay updated with the market no matter where they are.

The firm said IBKR Bond Marketplace makes it easy and cheap to trade over one million bonds from around the world. This includes Treasury, Municipal, Corporate, and non-US sovereign bonds. There are low and clear fees with no extra charges or hidden costs.

The platform has a free Bond Search Tool that helps clients compare bonds by maturity, yield, and type. This makes it easier to manage bond investments.

Thomas Frank, Executive Vice President of Interactive Brokers, said IBKR is happy to continue its plan to greatly improve bond market access for clients. This includes more products, better pricing, more liquidity, and longer trading hours.

Located based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Interactive Brokers is a big American brokerage company. It runs the biggest electronic trading platform in the US by daily trades. It handled an average of 3 million trades each day in 2023.
