The company placed 532 da Vinci surgical systems in the quarter, up from 493 in the year-ago period, growing its installed base to 11,106 systems, a 12% YoY increase. Worldwide procedures (da Vinci and Ion combined) grew approximately 18% compared with the fourth quarter of 2024. Da Vinci procedures grew approximately 17% and Ion procedures grew approximately 44%. Instruments and accessories revenue rose 17% to $1.66 billion, while systems revenue reached $786 million compared to $655 million a year earlier. The company ended the quarter with a strong financial position, reporting $9.03 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and investments, an increase of $600 million during the quarter. Fourth quarter 2025 non-GAAP income from operations increased to $1.07 billion, compared with $0.93 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024. Fourth quarter 2025 non-GAAP net income attributable to Intuitive Surgical, Inc. was $914 million compared with $805 million in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Moreover, in the U.S., da Vinci procedures increased 15% to more than 2 million, with notable contributions from general surgery procedures, including after-hours use. Internationally, da Vinci procedures increased by 23% to over 1.1 million. In 2025, global system utilization increased 3% across the da Vinci platforms. Multi-port grew 3%, single-port 29%, and Ion 9%.
ISRG in the fourth quarter of FY25 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of $2.53, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of $2.26. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 19 percent to $2.87 billion in the fourth quarter of FY25, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $2.75 million. The strong performance was driven by a 17% growth in da Vinci procedures and a 44% jump in Ion procedures. The introduction of new products, such as the da Vinci 5 system, and expanded market reach contributed to the strong performance. Free cash flow surged to $2.5 billion, reflecting efficient operational management.
Looking ahead, Intuitive Surgical provided guidance for 2026, projecting worldwide da Vinci procedure growth of approximately 13% to 15%, compared to 18% in 2025. The company expects non-GAAP gross profit margin to be between 67% and 68% of revenue, which includes an estimated 1.2% impact from tariffs.
