As the new football season approaches, Skilling, a new brokerage on the block has announced a sponsorship deal with the English Championship side, Fulham. The deal signifies Skilling’s ambition and bid to penetrate the English market and other European markets which are exposed to English football.
Skilling launched its offering in the United Kingdom earlier this year. At the same time, the firm also launched in Norway, Sweden and Germany. Investing in a popular club such as Fulham is a clear sign that the brokerage company is keen on imposing itself on the market and is committed to establishing its presence in the country.
Fulham was relegated to the second tier of English football last season after suffering from management challenges. The team will go into the new season as one of the favorites to get back into the Premier League and Skilling has joined them on this challenge. Skilling’s CMO, Pavel Spirin, said that with the shared plans they have with Fulham, they aim to push Fulham back into the Premier League while bringing trading back to the masses. The partnership between the two could not have come at a better time for both parties.
Fulham team shirts will carry the Skilling logo on the back. Other brands that are on Fulham’s shirts are Adidas and Dafabet, and Skilling joins these top brands. Sponsoring football teams is one sure way of gaining exposure to your target market as the sport is the most popular one worldwide. Skilling will benefit from exposure during Fulham’s games, displays at Fulham’s Craven Cottage and on all the club’s digital and social platforms.
Who is Skilling?
Entering an already highly competitive brokerage market, Skilling has shown its intent to establish itself as one of the top brokers. The firm has developed its own proprietary trading platform as it ventures into the brokerage space. Skilling was established in 2016 and they have been developing their own technology in preparation for entry into the market.
Skilling comes into the industry with the backing of Optimizer Invest and the brokerage firm is licensed by the CySec. Optimizer Invest has some diverse investments, some of which are Catena Media and Gaming Innovation Group. The optimizer also owns a number of affiliate websites. Skilling was co-founded by Henrik Persson Ekdahl and Mikael Riese Harstad, both from Sweden, and Andre Lavold from Norway.
The new brokerage enters the market at a key time due to the state of the industry across Europe. The market has recently been affected by the new rules and regulations imposed by ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority). A new firm with its own unique technology may find itself in a good position to benefit from the market.
