Project Guardian’s new funds’ workstream is being implemented by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) due to increased fund industry attention. This section covers indigenous VCC funds issued on digital asset networks. The measure optimizes fund procedures and administration to offer new regulatory-compliant investment alternatives.

MAS’s declaration reflects a coordinated effort to promote institutional digital asset uptake and utilization. Project Guardian, a consortium of 17 financial institutions, leads asset tokenization pilots. These tests could change listing, distribution, trading, settlement, and asset servicing in the capital market.

Pilots involve Citi, T. Rowe Price, and Fidelity International. Researchers are exploring bilateral digital asset pricing and trade. They are creating post-trade real-time reporting and analytics systems. OCBC and BNY Mellon are also considering cross-border foreign exchange payments. Ant Group is considering a global liquidity-boosting treasury management system.

Franklin Templeton may launch a VCC tokenized money market fund. This technique saves investment fund share documents utilizing digital asset networks. J.P. Morgan and Apollo are also using digital assets to streamline investing and portfolio management. This partnership reduces manual processes and improves efficiency to save time.

MAS Deputy Managing Director Commends Project Guardian’s Success

Singapore’s Monetary Authority (MAS) is also working with the financial industry to create an Interlinked Network Model. This open foundation lets networks exchange digital assets easily. This technology allows financial organizations to transact without sharing a network infrastructure. The latest whitepaper “Interlinking Networks,” which covers INM implementation and design, is comprehensive. The publication includes insights from financial institutions, FinTechs, and industry associations.

Project Guardian’s policymaker group now includes the IMF, providing a global perspective on cross-border platform policies and legal concerns. IMF is responsible for international monetary system stability.

Leong Sing Chiong, MAS’s Deputy Managing Director (Markets and Development), commended Project Guardian’s industry pilots. These pilots demonstrated cross-border tokenized financial asset trade, distribution, and settlement. He stressed the need for a scalable digital infrastructure, with GL1 projected to provide a stable, open internet-like backbone.
