Salesforce.com, inc.(NYSE: CRM) reported a decent second quarter of 2018 results wherein the overall revenues rose 26% yoy to $2.56 billion, while Subscription and support revenues surged 26% yoy to $2.37 billion. Professional services and other revenues enhanced 28% yoy to $193 million, during the second quarter of 2018. Salesforce is the first cloud software firm to break the $10 billion revenue run rate, says Marc Benioff, CEO of the group. On the other hand, the group’s GAAP diluted earnings per share fell 94% yoy to $0.02 during the second quarter of 2018 as the group made huge investments given the rising competition in the cloud sector. Accordingly the stock lost over 1.3% in the after-hours session on August 22nd, 2017. However, CRM stock generated over 35.8% in this year to date.

But Salesforce enhanced their cash from operations by 32% yoy to $331 million, during the quarter while overall cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities reached $3.50 billion. Deferred revenue surged 26% yoy to $4.82 billion, as of July 2017. Unbilled deferred revenue, which comprise business that is contracted but unbilled and off balance sheet, reached over $10.4 billion, which is an increase of 30% on a yoy basis. Demandware contributed over $625 million to unbilled deferred revenue. Overall billed and unbilled deferred revenue contributed more than $15 billion and on track to surpass $20 billion.
For the third quarter of FY18, the group expects a revenue in the range of $2.64 billion to $2.65 billion, which is a rise of 23% to 24% on a year-over-year basis. GAAP diluted earnings per share is expected to be in the range of $0.04 to $0.05, while non-GAAP diluted earnings per share is forecasted to be $0.36 to $0.37. Deferred revenue growth is expected to rise in the range of 18% to 19% on a year-over-year basis. The group forecasts a revenue in the range of $10.35 billion to $10.40 billion for fiscal year of 2018, which is a rise of 23% to 24% on a year-over-year basis. GAAP diluted earnings per share is expected to be $0.07 to $0.09 range, while non-GAAP diluted earnings per share is forecasted to be in the range of $1.29 to $1.31. Operating cash flow increase is forecasted to be in the range of 20% to 21% on a year-over-year basis.
