1B USDT Minted by Tether for the 2nd Time within 2 Months
A few people consider that the new USDT tokensâ minting may play the role of a catalyst for enhanced crypto demand. On the other hand, the CTO of the platform has disclosed that the respective minting has been carried out to back the chain swap-related operations. Tether periodically operates in collaboration with 3rd parties such as hedge funds and exchanges. Moreover, the respective collaboration is focused on assisting them in rebalancing the USDT tokensâ liquidity on diverse chains.
According to Ardoino, as exchange platforms back Tether USDT tokens on diverse chains, it is likely the majority of their USDT holdings would be on 1 chain. Â Nonetheless, he added, there might be a requirement for them to process asset withdrawals for some other chains. In such a situation, 3rd parties seek permission for a chain swap. The process of chain swap is a procedure to transact tokens between the blockchain networks.

In addition, with the help of the respective process, the consumers are permitted to bridge their assets across diverse chains. In a blog post published by Tether on its official website, the company mentioned that its consumers can mostly swap USDT tokens. The post mentioned that the users are permitted to swap tokens in small amounts on the crypto exchanges that back USDT on a couple of blockchains.
The Minted Assets Are Not Issued But They Denote Tetherâs Cumulative Market Capitalization
The users are allowed to swap tokens between those blockchains. Ardoino brought to the front that the minted tokens are authorized but they are not categorized as an issued transaction. This signifies that the respective amount can be utilized in the form of inventory to deal with next chain swaps and issuance requests.
The current 1B asset minting procedure has been done by Tether for the 2nd time within a 2-month time. The stablecoin issuer remained effective in minting 1B USDT coins on the Ethereum network back in April this year. Moreover, minted tokens are kept in the treasury of Tether and are included in its total market capitalization.
