Tether, the platform behind the top stablecoin, $USDT, has announced another milestone in its ongoing expansion strategy. In this respect, Tether has obtained a minority stake in Bit2Me to bolster its expansion across the Latin America and European Union. As the platform revealed in its press release, the platform is also leading a funding round of up to €30M that will conclude in the next weeks. Thus, with these efforts, the platform eyes a broad-level adoption within the prominent crypto hubs of the world.

Bit2Me Welcomes Tether as Shareholder to Power Growth in LATAM and EU
Tether’s minority stake in Bit2Me takes place at a crucial time as the latter has recently experienced a notable regulatory breakthrough. Hence, Bit2Me has become the earliest Spanish-speaking cryptocurrency exchange to get Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) of Spain. This approval follows the exclusive Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, letting Bit2Me provide services in twenty-seven EU member states.
Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, has also celebrated Bit2Me’s endeavors to ensure regulatory compliance, education-led infrastructure, and consumer protection. He asserted that the platform has consistently shown a robust commitment to developing intuitive, secure, and compliant infrastructure for a resilient digital asset landscape. Additionally, it reportedly pays considerable attention to user empowerment, transparency, and education, closely aligning with Tether’s goal to offer an open financial sector.
Expressing similar thoughts, Andrei Manuel, the COO and Co-founder of BitMe2, also highlights the significance of this move. The executive asserted Bit2Me’s enthusiasm for welcoming Tether into the shareholding structure. With this support, he added, the platform intends to expedite its leadership across Latin American and European markets to harness DeFi’s potential.
Shaping Regulated Crypto Future
According to Tether, getting a minority stake in Bit2Me underscores a critical development in shaping the regulated crypto future in Europe and the rest of the world. Adding to this, Pablo Casadío, the CFO of Bit2Me stated that the platform has earned trusted reputation and growth over a decade-long commitment to user-focused innovation, regulation, and transparency. Keeping this in view, Tether’s support places Bit2Me in a good position to rapidly scale across geographies, users, and products.
