Celgene Corporation (NASDAQ: CELG) recovered to today and delivered over 0.7% returns this morning (As of 9:32AM EDT on October 6^th, 2017; Source: Google finance) post a weak trading session yesterday. The stock lost over 4.4% on October 5^th, 2017 as analysts from Morgan Stanley cut their rating on the stock to “Underweight” from “Equal-Weight”. The shares of Celgene enhanced over 35.5% in the last one year.

Recently, FDA put Hold on many of the group’s Fusion Program Studies trials. FDA put Five IMFINZI trials on partial hold but one trial is on full clinical hold. The trials were testing IMFINZI™ (durvalumab), an anti-PD-L1 antibody, in combination with immunomodulatory and chemotherapy agents in blood cancers like multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and lymphoma. Risks involving anti-PD-L1 inhibitor, Keytruda led FDA to take the decision. Even the group’s IMFINZI is facing a challenging year. In the FUSION™ program, the clinical holds enable for a further information to be collected to further understand the risk-benefit profile of the program. The group reported that the patients enrolled on full clinical hold would be discontinued from treatment, while Patients enrolled on partial clinical trials might remain on treatment. There are seven trials involving IMFINZI trials – wherein two of which do not have a hold given their deal with MedImmune, AstraZeneca’s R&D arm, to develop IMFINZI in several hematologic malignancies.

They recently got FDA approval which is the first and only oral, targeted inhibitor of IDH21 as per results from the phase I/II AG-221 AML-001 study including safety, rate and duration of complete response (CR) or CR with partial hematologic recovery (CRh) and rate of conversion to transfusion independence.

The group recently reported that they evaluated the investigational uses of ABRAXANE alone or as combination therapy to treat non-small cell lung cancer and as a combination therapy for locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
