Ubisoft Chooses Blockchain Startup for Entrepreneurs Lab

Ubisoft has selected Aleph.im, a blockchain startup firm, to be part of the sixth round of Ubisoft’s Entrepreneurs Lab. The Entrepreneurs Lab gives the firm added exposure in the blockchain sector.

Ubisoft has been running the Entrepreneurs Lab event for six years. The game developer has been using the event as a platform where entrepreneurs can gain access to company resources and workforce. This would give them the scalability needed and give them a way of monetizing their products.

The theme of the sixth season of Entrepreneurs Lab will be ‘blockchain and positive entertainment.’ Besides Alpheim, other firms that have been selected for the event include 11 other startups situated in Australia, Canada, and Europe.

Virginie Haas, the chief studios operating officer at Ubisoft, commented on the Entrepreneurs Lab season, saying, “We are very proud to be welcoming all of these talented startups for the 6th season of the Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab.”

“Our primary mission is to make decentralized cloud services a reality. It is really encouraging to have such a successful business getting behind our vision of creating the next generation of cloud services that will be open-source, unstoppable, and trustless.” Alpheim’s CEO, Jonathan Schemoul, said.

By Alpheim joining Entrepreneurs Lab, the firm will have a chance to expand its DeFi ecosystem with the help of domain experts from Ubisoft. According to Alpheim, it will achieve its mission of integrating blockchain into social entertainment and transform the future of entertainment.

The boom of Blockchain Startups

2021 has contributed to the growth of blockchain startups. The year has been marked with increased interest from institutional investors looking to invest in blockchain technology and the crypto sector. The blockchain sector has been booming following the heavy adoption of crypto and people gaining more knowledge about cryptocurrencies.

Because of this growth, blockchain startups have received heavy investments from investors who want to tap into the potential of this sector. In 2021 alone, hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested in blockchain startups. The investments have been used to fund several projects.

Unlike previously, when large institutions steered clear of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, 2021 has attracted many leading global firms in the sector. Wall Street firms such as JPMorgan Chase, MasterCard, and UBS have also invested in blockchain and crypto firms. The growth is also expected to progress until the end of the year and even into 2022.
