US Bancorp (NYSE:USB) stock rose 1.63% (As on July 12, 11:22:36 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after Bank of America upgraded them to buy from neutral, saying earnings and strong execution should foster outperformance. Average total deposits for the first quarter of 2023 were $56.1 billion (12.4 percent) higher than the first quarter of 2022, including the impact of the MUB acquisition. Average noninterest-bearing deposits increased $1.8 billion (1.4 percent) driven by the impact of the acquisition of MUB, partially offset by a decrease across legacy Company business lines. Average total savings deposits were $43.5 billion (14.4 percent) higher year-over-year driven by the acquisition of MUB and increases within Corporate and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management and Investment Services, partially offset by a decrease in Consumer and Business Banking.
