DJIA futures cautiously higher before jobless claims data

The unemployment claims data become the major indicator to determine how severe is the coronavirus impact on the job market. In the previous days, the market disappointed by worse than expected retail sales data which down 8.7% vs. 8.0% expectation.

Today, the unemployment claims expected to come out at 5350k.

The Asian stock market traded mixed. Japan’s stock market down 259.89 points (-1.33%) to 19,290.20, China stock market up 8.76 (+0.31%) to 2,819.94 and Australia ASX 200 down 50.40 points (-0.92%) to 5,416.30. The European stock market mostly higher on the plan of lockdown easing. DAX Germany up 1.14%, FTSE UK up 0.49%, Euro STOXX 600 up 1.03%

Technical Analysis

Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU)

No much change in the DJIA yet, the index currently swinging up and down between 22,500 – 24,250. Traders and investors are observing the release of earnings report to determine the severity of coronavirus to the company performance.

We might see movement as earnings result released.

Blackrock Inc (BLK)

BLK upward correction in the share prices has reached the daily SMA 200. The share prices slightly lower after the test on the averages. If the rejection turn into a bearish trend, BLK might test the support level around $400 – $420.
