Stock market rising in pre-market as rotation out of tech continues

U.S. stock market is mixed in the pre-market session today, with the Dow futures trading higher while S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures edge lower. Investors continue to rotate out of technology stocks and into more defensive and value-oriented sectors following the Fed’s rate cut earlier this week. The broader sentiment remains constructive as the DJIA index looks set to extend its record levels, supported by strong demand in non-tech components. Overall, the market tone is mildly bullish heading into the opening bell.

DJIA index continues its bullish momentum in the pre-market, with futures pointing higher by around +93 points (+0.19%). Yesterday’s strong rally pushed the index to a new record high, and today’s futures action suggests the advance may continue. Technically, Price remains well above the rising trend line and EMA 100, keeping the bullish structure intact. A short-term correction might happen, and traders will use it as a chance to add long positions. If the index extends the upward movement, the next major upside target remains the 161.8% Fibonacci extension at 49,340.

Dominion Energy (D)

Dominion Energy is trading near flat in pre-market, with price currently sitting just above the daily SMA 200, which continues to act as an important support level. The stock recently pulled back from its previous swing high, but buyers are defending the $57.50–$58.64 zone. The daily SMA 100 near $59.70 is now the nearest resistance to watch. As long as the price holds above daily SMA 200, the overall structure leans neutral-to-bullish.

On the bigger view, D share prices is trading inside $57.50 – $62.50 range and traders could use the range to apply ranging strategies.
