Retail data boosted U.S indices

U.S stock market prepares for another record high as futures pointed North. Data from retail sector show the strong result with core retail sales up 1.0% vs. 0.6% expectation. And retail sales up 0.8% vs. 0.3% expectation. Early in the European session, BOE announces no change the interest-rate and followed by ECB which take the same stance.

Currently, ECB chief Mario Draghi gave a speech to the market. The market will watch the news and decipher the central bank stance on future interest-rate.

21st Century Fox agreed to be acquired by Disney

The shareholders of 21st Century Fox agreed on acquisition value of $52.40 billion by Disney. The long-awaited deal reached after Wednesday close of market. Disney also affirms CEO Bob Iger will remain in the company at least until 2021 which put an end to speculation that Iger will retire this year.

Analysts said the deal would benefit Disney greatly in the competition against Netflix and Amazon.

Asian & European Stock market

Asian stock market dipped today after the Fed raised the interest rate. Nikkei down 63.62 points (-0.28%) to 22,694.45, Shang Hai Composite down 9.46 points (-0.29%) to 3,293.58 and Australia ASX 200 down 10.50 points (-0.17%) to 6,011.30. European stock market also lower after ECB hold interest-rate unchanged. DAX Germany down 0.68%, FTSE UK down 0.19%, and Euro STOXX 600 down 0.36%.

Technical Analysis

Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU)

DJIA is in the path upward to 25,000 handles, and there is nothing to stop it yet. The index prepares for higher opening today as the futures up before market open. Following the lost in Alabama, Republican make a sprint to finish line on tax-bill. The success to pass the tax-bill will help DJIA reach 25,000.

Kroger Co (KR)

KR share prices broke above daily SMA 200 recently after strong earnings result. The trend slowly shifts to bullish, and it might continue to close price gap around $28.50. Traders could look for long position near the daily SMA 200.

Western Digital (WDC)

A break and retest of daily SMA 200 are in progress on the WDC chart. The share prices made initial test near the averages and rejected. If the bear could continue to hold the price lower, it will trigger more selling.
