Dow falls as geopolitical tension lingers, investors remain cautious
U.S. equities moved lower as investors reacted cautiously to ongoing developments surrounding U.S.–Iran relations. While the extension of the pause on military action initially provided some relief, the absence of concrete progress in negotiations failed to support sustained bullish sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 394.01 points (-0.86%) to 45,566.10, while the S&P 500 declined 55.03 points (-0.85%) to 6,422.13. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 265.50 points (-1.24%) to 21,142.58.
Market participants remain sensitive to geopolitical headlines, with uncertainty continuing to weigh on risk appetite. As a result, major indices struggled to maintain upward momentum and drifted lower throughout the session.
Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU)
The Dow Jones Industrial Average extended its decline, remaining under sustained bearish pressure and printing a new lower low. The index continues to trade below key moving averages, reinforcing the current downside structure. Recent price action suggests that sellers remain in control, with no clear signs of reversal at this stage. The inability to hold previous support levels further strengthens the bearish outlook. With momentum still pointing downward, the index may continue its move toward lower targets, with the 45,000 level and below becoming key areas to watch in the near term.
Realty Income Corporation (O)
Realty Income showed early signs of stabilization after bouncing from the daily EMA 200, a level that often serves as an important dynamic support. This reaction suggests that buying interest is beginning to emerge following the recent pullback. The current price behavior indicates a potential shift from bearish correction toward consolidation. If the price continues to hold above the EMA 200, it could form the foundation for a new bullish leg.
