Microsoft earnings boost U.S stock futures before market open

The global stock market is gaining today as traders and investors focuses on the corporate earnings result. Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) reported earnings per share of $1.38 vs. $1.25 expectation. Revenue comes out at $33.06 billion vs. $32.23 billion. Share prices up 1% before the market open.

At the current time, DJIA futures up 46 points and suggesting higher opening day. Amazon, Intel and Visa set to report earnings after the market close.

The Asian stock market mostly higher today. Japan’s stock market up 125.22 points (+0.55%) to 22,750.60, China stock market down 0.70 points (-0.02%) to 2,940.92, and Australia ASX 200 up 20.50 points (+0.31%) to 6,693.60. The European stock market also on the path higher. DAX Germany up 0.58%, UK FTSE up 0.92%, Euro STOXX600 up 0.62%

Technical Analysis

Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU)

DJIA has not move much from weekly opening level. It move near 27,000 resistance and might continue to stick near the resistance level. No change to the outlook yet for DJIA. Traders will expect the index to trade between 26,000 – 27,000 and inside the two trendlines.

WEC Energy Group Inc (WEC)

WEC traded inside a triangle pattern with long-term bullish trend. The share prices currently located at the bottom of triangle and the daily SMA 50. Traders could look for long positions near the support level and apply ranging strategies for now.
