All cryptocurrency-related enterprises must now get licenses from the National Agency for Advanced Projects (NAPP), an approved agency that oversees the licensing process. The penalties for violating this rule are 300 BRV (equal to $8,150) for unlicensed crypto service providers and 150 BRV (equivalent to $4,075) for illegal mining.

Uzbekistan’s cryptocurrency venture began in June when the National Agency for Project Management (NAPP) licensed the Lockton Hub crypto depository. The C-BASE crypto business was authorized in August. Commercial institutions like Ravnaq Bank and Kapital Bank were allowed to produce crypto cards in the digital sandbox.

The legislative changes address various cryptocurrency business challenges, signaling Uzbekistan’s shift toward digital asset regulation. These developments have an impact on cryptocurrency exchanges, demonstrating the government’s strict control.

Uzbekistan Paves the Way for Safe and Transparent Crypto Operations

The technique taken by Uzbekistan is typical of governments worldwide that want to embrace cryptocurrency while conforming to financial and legal regulations. Providing regulatory clarity benefits market actors by creating a secure and transparent environment, protecting investor interests, and encouraging innovation and economic growth.

These laws give legal clarity and allow local and foreign cryptocurrency lovers, investors, and companies to operate in a safe and regulated environment. This milestone lays the groundwork for Uzbekistan’s crypto industry’s growth.

Uzbekistan’s proactive approach is in line with the dynamic development of the cryptocurrency industry on a global scale. It positions the country as a prospective center for cryptocurrency innovation and investment. This strategic approach holds the potential to provide economic advantages for Uzbekistan. However, it will also help the broader global cryptocurrency community.
