Veeva Systems Inc (NYSE:VEEV) Upgraded By JPMorgan

Veeva Systems Inc (NYSE:VEEV) stock fell 1.87% (As on September 9, 11:26:34 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after JPMorgan upgraded the company to Overweight from Neutral with a price target of $330, up from $290. The firm says the company is only 14% penetrated in a $20B-plus life Sciences industry opportunity, which has historically grown mid-single digits. Veeva will grow revenue at 13% annually and post cash flow margins of 40%-plus over the next three years, supported by a “competitively differentiated” platform-approach and total addressable market penetration opportunity, the firm tells investors in a research note.
Further, Veeva makes cloud-based tools that help pharmaceutical and biotech companies manage research, sales, data storage and regulatory compliance. The company has captured only a fraction of its potential market, leaving room for further expansion. The analysts said Veeva’s growth will be fueled by selling more services to its existing base of nearly 1500 clients and by benefiting from a broader industry shift toward digital tools. The company recent partnered with IQVIA which is a healthcare data provider, with a rollout of “Agentic AI,” designed to improve efficiency for drugmakers. “Despite fierce competition, migration of customers to Vault CRM is going well, while introduction of Agentic AI is supporting greater industry efficiency,” the analysts wrote. They added that Veeva’s broad platform approach, which spans multiple functions across the drug development cycle, sets it apart from rivals. JPM also pointed to Veeva’s strong financial position, with a large cash balance that could support further investment or acquisitions. The brokerage raised its price target, saying Veeva’s long-term growth prospects and ability to expand profit margins warrant a higher valuation.
Moreover, Veeva Systems continues to make strides in its AI and data cloud initiatives. The company announced that its Veeva AI, which includes agentic AI in the Vault Platform and industry-specific application agents, is progressing rapidly. The first Veeva AI agents are set for release in December for CRM and commercial content, with additional agents planned for 2026 and clinical data targeted for 2027.
Meanwhile, for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, Veeva Systems reported total revenues of $789.1 million, marking a 17% increase from $676.2 million in the same period last year. Subscription services revenues also saw a 17% year-over-year increase, reaching $659.2 million. The company’s operating income rose to $195.9 million, an 18% increase from the previous year’s $166.5 million. Net income for the quarter was $200.3 million, a 17% increase from $171.0 million in the same period last year.
